Literary evenings in Paris
Small groups, great books and good conversation, in some of the most beautiful hotels of the Left Bank. No need to have read the books before: just come curious.
arco éditions is an independent Paris publisher that brings French classics back to life: Balzac, Zola, Flaubert, Colette, Proust. Our books are sold in more than 100 bookshops across France. With the Arco Readers' Club, we take them off the shelf and around the table.
Our formats

Private Chapter
A literary cocktail evening at Officine Bac, the speakeasy bar of Le Grand Hôtel Cayré. One theme, a few extracts read in small groups, and a twist: the authors are only revealed at the end, so everyone reads without preconceptions.
Cocktail and finger food included · Boulevard Raspail, Paris 7th

The Reading Society
A reading and discussion circle at Hôtel Dame des Arts, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Each session explores a theme, such as first love or the femme fatale, through passages from great novels, essays and plays.
Rue Danton, Paris 6th
We also host writing workshops, drawing workshops inspired by literature, and evenings with authors. New dates are announced to club members first.
In English, too
Most of our evenings are currently held in French. English-language sessions are coming soon, built around classics in their best translations. Join the club and tell us which language you prefer: you will be the first to know.
